I am working on a highly strategic Partner-level mandate for a rapidly scaling, national legal platform that is actively disrupting the traditional law firm model.

This is not a passive hire. The firm is deliberately targeting high-calibre IP Partners who want more—more autonomy, more reward, and a genuine platform to scale a practice without the politics and constraints of a legacy partnership.

The Opportunity

If you are currently constrained—by internal conflicts, lack of investment, limited cross-referral, or a ceiling on earnings—this role is designed to remove those barriers. You will step into a well-capitalised, growth-driven business with a strong Midlands footprint and immediate access to a national client base.

The mandate is clear:
Build, lead and scale a market-leading Intellectual Property offering from Worcester, with full backing.

The Role

  • Take ownership of and grow the IP practice in the region
  • Leverage an existing national platform to win and service higher-value work
  • Drive strategic client relationships and revenue growth
  • Collaborate with high-performing teams across corporate, commercial, tech and disputes
  • Play a visible leadership role in the continued expansion of the business

This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial Partner role—not a title without traction.

The Work

You will advise on the full spectrum of IP matters, including:

  • Trade marks, copyright and design rights
  • Brand protection, exploitation and commercialisation
  • IP-led transactions, licensing and franchising
  • Contentious IP and enforcement strategies

There is significant existing demand, with clear gaps for a senior IP lawyer to capitalise on.

The Individual

This brief is targeted and selective. You will likely be:

  • An established Partner or senior Legal Director ready to step up
  • Commercially driven, with a track record of winning and retaining clients
  • Frustrated by structural limitations in your current firm
  • Motivated by building something meaningful, not just maintaining a desk

A following is advantageous, but equally important is the ability to leverage platform, brand and internal referral flow to scale quickly.
