This is a standout opportunity for a Senior Associate or Partner to join at a formative stage of the firm’s growth in South Wales, with the chance to play a key role in building a leading regional practice.

The Opportunity

Our client is a national, full-service commercial law firm with over 10,000 business clients and a strong UK-wide platform, combining regional strength with national capability.

With a growing presence in Leeds as part of a wider strategic expansion into Wales, the firm is investing heavily in high-calibre lateral hires to establish a full-service offering for the South Wales market.

The Data Protection team advises both public and private sector clients on a wide range of information governance matters, delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice.

The Role

You will join a nationally integrated Data Protection team, working closely with colleagues across Corporate, Commercial, Regulatory and Disputes.

Key areas of work include:

• GDPR compliance programmes, audits and training
• Data mapping and gap analysis
• Data sharing and processing agreements
• Data breaches and incident response
• ICO investigations and regulatory matters
• Data Subject Access Requests and data rights
• Direct marketing and PECR compliance
• Data protection aspects of corporate and commercial transactions

You will play a central role in developing the Leeds offering, working with existing clients while also building new relationships across South Wales.

The Role Level

• Senior Associate:
  • Lead on complex matters and client relationships
  • Support the growth of the Leeds practice
  • Clear pathway to Partnership
• Partner:
  • Build and lead a regional Data Protection practice
  • Leverage the firm’s national client base and cross-referrals
  • Contribute strategically to the firm’s growth in Wales

The Candidate

We are keen to speak with:

• Qualified Solicitors with strong experience in Data Protection / Privacy law
• Lawyers operating at Senior Associate or Partner level
• Individuals with experience advising commercial clients on GDPR and compliance frameworks
• A commercial, solutions-focused mindset
• A track record (or clear interest) in business development and client relationship management

A following is advantageous at Partner level but not essential, given the firm’s strong internal referral network and national platform.
