The company Develop, Manufacture and Distribute mechanical systems for Racing, Aerospace and High-Performance Divisions, globally. They were founded in 1985 in Austria and have since grown all over the world.

Production Engineer Responsibilities:

To provide Engineering support required for the Production processes of the business, focusing on quality, reviewing and advising on production methods, continuous improvement and reduction of scrap/waste, working closely to support the Head of Engineering

Reports to: Head of Engineering

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation of documents, defining the production process, including preparatory works created from design drawings, with detailed descriptions of the individual work operations
  • Conducting technical feasibility at enquiry stage
  • Creating stage drawings
  • Creating material master data and routing in the ERP System (ABAS)
  • Design of jigs/fixtures/tooling
  • Assisting with machine purchase specifications, maintenance plans & repairs
  • Assisting with Machine layout/moving
  • Assisting with Site services/maintenance
  • Providing technical support to manufacturing including programming, internal & external production issues, ordering tooling/consumables
  • Providing technical support to quality including Quality Plans/Control Plans, internal & external NCRs
  • Implementation of corrective actions
  • Being aware of current projects being scheduled/in progress
  • Continuous Improvement in the production processes
  • Filing & traceability of data, in particular:

– Drawings & Change Records

– Storage of Work Orders (job cards)

– Traceability of changes in the workflow

  • Liaison with Purchasing & or Suppliers, in particular – Tooling suppliers, purchase of right tools and materials (with consideration to cost, availability etc)

Other responsibilities

  • Taking care to ensure customer proprietary information remains confidential at all times
  • Being aware of quality requirements of the business at all times
  • Being aware of health and safety responsibilities in own and others’ activities
  • Adhering to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment, systems and materials at all times

Desired Professional Skills

  • Educated to degree level BSc degree in Manufacturing Technology or similar and/or 5 years’ experience in metal cutting manufacturer company
  • Experience within the manufacturing industry, preferably within the Racing Industry or Aerospace
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software
  • Experience in reading manufacturing drawings
  • Experience in defining manufacturing processes
  • Experience with Kaizen, 5S, Continuous Improvement and Lean Enterprise practices
  • Experience with ISO 9001 requirements, basic knowledge of product liability Job
  • Knowledge of statistical methods (distribution, process capability)
  • Additional languages would be an advantage (German)
  • Communication skills consist of the ability to read, analyses, and interpret technical or complex documents and take corrective action as necessary, to provide and present information in an understandable manner enabling the business to respond to sensitive inquiries, complaints, etc.,
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, ERP-systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a “Can Do” attitude
  • Knowledge and understanding of the automotive racing industry, competitors, products, and developments
