From a specialist Legal Recruiter’s perspective, opportunities at Partner level within Regulatory law are becoming increasingly strategic—and this instruction is a prime example.

I am currently working on behalf of a Top 50 UK law firm to appoint a Regulatory Partner into their growing Milton Keynes office.

This is a standout opportunity to join a firm that is genuinely reshaping the regional legal market. With over 1,400 professionals, 30+ UK locations, and a client base exceeding 10,000 businesses—including FTSE 250 organisations—the platform offers both scale and agility.

The Regulatory team is a key part of that growth strategy. Known for its strength in advising businesses and individuals on complex regulatory matters—including health & safety, environmental issues, corporate manslaughter, financial crime, and professional discipline—the team includes former regulators and prosecutors, offering clients a uniquely commercial and pragmatic approach.

The Opportunity:
This role is ideally suited to an established Partner or ambitious Legal Director seeking a clear pathway to Partnership. You will play a central role in developing the Regulatory offering in the South East, leveraging an established national platform while building your own client relationships locally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading on complex regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, and prosecutions
  • Advising clients on risk management, compliance, and crisis response
  • Driving business development and strengthening client relationships
  • Collaborating with a national team of recognised specialists

Why This Firm?
Unlike traditional private practice models, Knights plc operates a corporate structure designed to remove bureaucracy and empower its Partners. The result is a highly commercial, collaborative environment where lawyers are encouraged to focus on client delivery and growth.

What’s Required:

  • A strong track record in Regulatory law (ideally including HSE, environmental, or financial crime work)
  • Proven business development capability or a portable following
  • A commercial mindset and desire to contribute to a growing regional office

The Bottom Line:
For Regulatory specialists considering their next move, this is not just another Partner role—it’s an opportunity to build, shape, and lead within a firm that is actively investing in its people, platform, and future.

If you’re open to a confidential discussion about how this could align with your career trajectory, I’d welcome the opportunity to speak.
