Synergy Personnel Services is partnering with a highly regarded, fast-growing national legal services provider to appoint a Senior Associate or Partner-level Agriculture Solicitor to join its established Private Client team in Manchester.

This is a senior opportunity for an experienced lawyer with a passion for rural affairs to take on a strategic role within a nationally recognised practice, advising farming families, landowners, and rural businesses.

The Opportunity

You will join a specialist agriculture team providing comprehensive legal services to the rural community, farming partnerships, and agricultural businesses, working closely with land agents and other professional advisers.

The team is known for delivering practical, straightforward advice and building long-term relationships with clients, often supporting them through generational planning, succession, and complex land-related matters.

At Partner level, this role offers a genuine platform to shape and grow the agricultural offering in the region, supported by a strong national client base and collaborative network.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising on a wide range of agricultural and rural matters, including:
  • Farming partnerships and business structures
  • Agricultural tenancies (including Holdings Act and farm business tenancies)
  • Succession planning, retirement, and asset protection
  • Land and property issues including boundaries and rights of way
  • Agricultural disputes (civil and criminal)
• Acting as a trusted advisor to farming families and rural businesses
• Working collaboratively with land agents, accountants, and other advisors
• Managing complex, high-value matters with a commercial and pragmatic approach
• Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
• Driving business development and strengthening relationships within the rural sector
• Contributing to the growth and strategic direction of the Manchester office

About You

• Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) in England & Wales
• Significant experience in agricultural law and/or private client work with a rural focus
• Strong understanding of the challenges facing farming and landed estates
• Proven ability to manage complex matters and deliver practical advice
• For Partner level: demonstrable business development capability and a following or clear growth strategy
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills
