Senior Associate / Partner – Housing & Regeneration – Brighton

Location: Brighton
Salary: Competitive + bonus

Synergy Personnel Services has been exclusively instructed by a Top 50 UK law firm to identify a Senior Associate or Partner to join its expanding Housing & Regeneration team in Brighton.

This is a compelling opportunity for a lawyer with sector expertise to step into a role that sits at the intersection of real estate, public sector work and large-scale development projects.

The Opportunity

Our client has developed one of the largest and most dedicated Housing & Regeneration teams in the UK, advising registered providers, local authorities, developers and landowners on complex and often high-profile projects.

The team is heavily involved in major regeneration schemes, infrastructure-led developments and housing delivery programmes, helping clients bring projects to life from inception through to completion.

With Brighton forming part of the firm’s strong North West platform, this hire will play a key role in supporting both regional growth and national mandates.

The Role

This is a broad, project-driven position where your work will span both advisory and transactional matters across the housing lifecycle.

You can expect to be involved in:

  • Advising housing associations and local authorities on governance and regulatory matters
  • Supporting funding arrangements, including complex financing structures
  • Housing management work (including tenancy, possession and policy matters)
  • Infrastructure and development agreements linked to regeneration schemes
  • Estate management structures and long-term asset strategies
  • Collaboration with Real Estate, Construction and Planning teams on large-scale developments

The work is inherently multi-disciplinary, reflecting the complexity of delivering sustainable communities and long-term regeneration projects.

A Different Kind of Role

This position is not purely transactional or volume-driven.

Instead, it offers:

  • Exposure to long-term regeneration projects with real social impact
  • Close collaboration with public sector bodies and major housing providers
  • The opportunity to become a sector specialist and trusted adviser
  • A platform to contribute to policy, strategy and delivery, not just legal execution

At Partner level, there is clear scope to lead client relationships and shape the regional offering.

About You

We are interested in speaking with:

  • Solicitors with experience in Housing, Regeneration, or Real Estate (with sector exposure)
  • Senior Associates ready to step up, or Partners seeking a stronger national platform
  • Individuals with a genuine interest in placemaking, regeneration and community-focused development
  • Lawyers who are comfortable working across public and private sector clients
  • Candidates with connections across the North West housing market (advantageous, not essential)

A following is helpful but not critical — the firm already acts for 100+ registered providers nationally, offering a strong base of existing work.

Why Join?

  • Top 50 UK law firm with continued investment in sector specialisms
  • One of the largest Housing & Regeneration teams in the UK
  • High-profile, meaningful work shaping communities and infrastructure
  • Strong internal referral network across Real Estate, Corporate and Regulatory
  • Flexible, modern working environment with reduced hierarchy
  • Clear pathway to Partnership and equity
