Synergy Personnel Services has been exclusively retained to recruit a Senior Associate or Partner into a specialist Planning team within a Top 50 UK law firm.

This is a strategic opportunity to join a well-established, multidisciplinary planning offering, working alongside lawyers and chartered town planners on complex, high-value development projects.

The Opportunity

You will join a highly regarded Planning team that combines legal expertise with in-house town planning capability—offering clients a fully integrated, commercially focused service.

The team advises across the full planning lifecycle, from early-stage site strategy through to applications, appeals, and project delivery, supporting developers, landowners, and investors on maximising site value and navigating complex regulatory frameworks.

This sits within a broader national Real Estate practice known for advising on complex development schemes and major property transactions across the UK.

The Role

You will take a senior, client-facing role advising on a wide range of planning matters, including:

• Planning applications, appeals, and strategic site promotion
• Section 106 agreements and planning obligations
• Development strategy and feasibility advice
• Local plan representations and stakeholder engagement
• Enforcement matters and planning disputes
• Listed buildings and conservation area work
• Advising on project implementation and discharge of conditions

You will work closely with developers, landowners, and investors, providing commercially driven advice to unlock development potential and manage planning risk.

The Candidate

This role is suited to:

• A Senior Associate ready to step into a more senior, strategic role, or
• An established Partner seeking a more agile and growth-focused platform

You will demonstrate:

• Strong experience in planning law within a commercial real estate context
• A commercial, solutions-led approach to development projects
• Confidence advising on complex planning strategy and negotiations
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
• A following or clear business development capability (particularly at Partner level)
